CARE GUIDE
SOAKED began with a desire to move away from our relationship with disposable umbrellas. That means re-thinking how we take care of them.
So to make sure your new SOAKED umbrella gets the TLC it deserves, follow our four simple steps and you'll be right as rain.
1. Shake and stretch
We all need a good stretch now and then after being tucked up tight. If your umbrella has been in its sleeve for a while, undo the popper and give it a good shake and expand before heading out. If it's brand new, leave it expanded overnight to let it stretch its muscles.
For bonus points, leave your umbrella out the sleeve with the popper undone when at home to help it stay loose and ready for duty.
2. HOME AND DRY
SOAKED umbrellas work hard to repel water, but when it's really been pouring, help shake off any excess before collapsing the canopy.
Once home, always leave the canopy expanded until your umbrella is completely dry. It won’t take long and is a critical step to prevent mildew or rust forming.
3. SQUEAKY CLEAN
Occasionally, wipe the outer canopy with lukewarm water and a soft, clean cloth only. Allow the umbrella to completely dry before closing.
Occasional cleaning helps the material to breathe freely so it can keep doing its job - and look great while it's at it.
4. SENSIBLE USE
In extreme winds, or if caught in a sudden gust, SOAKED umbrellas are designed to safely invert to protect the canopy from damage.
Repeated inversions or exposure to strong winds can cause unnecessary stress to the structure, potentially resulting in damage. So on those rare days where the storm is much more wind than rain, grab a raincoat instead and leave your umbrella safe to focus on protecting you for many more rainy days to come.
